This print is part of The Salt & Sea series highlighting Gene Rogovitz's pen and ink style. This line was meant to capture the essence of the ocean and it's many counterparts. The Sea Turtle has been a personal favorite to work on right from the start. I'm not sure if it was the symmetrical problem solving or just the different layers and textures in the drawing. Many of the pen and ink stylings are asymmetrical and I guess it was nice working with a line of consistency. The challenge was making it the same but different when capturing the symmetry.
